The area is surrounded by 31 Martiou, Kolokotroni and Pissandrou streets as well as Eleftherias square. Not many monuments of importance were found here. A Mycenaean settlement and ruins of an early Christian settlement as well as some ruins from the geometric era were discovered.

Many copper items and statues of Isis, Aphrodite, Ares and Dimitra were unearthed and just to the south of the church Aghia Paraskevi, an ancient house was discovered containing a mosaic which showed a bride, animal courtships, Asklepieios welcoming a Koan and Hippocrates sitting on a rock. These have been dated to the 2nd and 3rd centuries BC and are now found in the main display room of the museum.

At the point where Kolokotroni street meets Pissandrou, there is an old minaret. Near this is the area where it is believed an Acropolis once stood. The only findings here are of a courtyard of a building with a pool and various mosaics from different eras, one of which depicts a leopard and various marine life and is dated to the 3rd century BC.
